WALLIS LAKE FISHING REPORT

SPRING 2010 FISHING REPORT

13/11/2020

Spring is now with us and with that the fishing patterns have normally fairly sluggish in early Spring and are mostly caught on bait. However, with warmer water they are much more active and are being taken regularly on plastics and hard bodied lures. Plenty of spare plastic lures are recommended as the PIKE and LEATHERJACKETS like to chew them off!

BREAM are still the main catch in Wallis Lake and are easily taken on a large variety of baits – great fun for the kids. The bigger BREAM are very shy because of the crystal clear water.
Fishing around and into the oyster leases will greatly increase your chances of hooking some larger fish but be prepared for a few bust ups.

Most of the islands in WALLIS LAKE have beach areas around them and these are ideal spots for relaxing family picnics. These shallow spots are a great place to throw a line out and catch some WHITING. Live worms or nippers are the best WHITING bait however, peeled prawn tail also works very well.

Our BLUE PETER boats are well equipped family sized boats and we supply a comprehensive map of WALLIS LAKE, fishing gear hire, if required and will have the latest fishing information available for you.
